The vision of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games led to the creation of the Olympic Delivery Authority’s (ODA’s) Equality and Diversity Strategy in July 2007. This set new benchmarks for equality and diversity practice in construction. Performance needed to be measured against the benchmarks set, and this in turn inspired the creation of a bespoke method of measuring the contractor workforce.
